There is always something more to be done. The dinner has to be cooked. Rooms have to be swept. Children have to be helped with their homework. There is so much to do.
Housework need not take up all of one’s day. Here are some tips:
1. Do some multi-tasking. Throw a load of wash in the machine and do some dusting.
2. Ask your kids to help with cleaning the house. Hey hubby too!
3. Remember that you are not SuperwomanA lot of housewives make the mistake of imagining themselves as superwomen. The idea is to take on only as much as you can handle.
4. A routine is certainly a good idea. Working some breaks into the schedule is recommended. Dividing the day’s work into bite-sized chores also makes a lot of sense.
5. Reduce your errands Most of the major retailers allow us to shop online for our daily necessities. Phoning for home delivery would be a good idea.
6. Don’t leave chores for later Sometimes, there is the temptation to leave a chore pending. However, this may end up eating into our free time. For example, it is always easy to clean the table just after a meal.
7. Avoid unnecessary chores. Much of the day can be spent ironing out creases on clothes that we won't wear for months. It makes much more sense to iron only the clothes that we will be wearing the next day.
8. Hire a housekeeper when there is too much work. Yeh!
9. Keep some me-time . Setting aside some leisure time is a must.
